The invention relates to a device for measuring the amount of beryllium in a radioactive object (5), characterised by comprising: a hollow cylinder consisting of a part made of a material capable of thermalising neutrons (1) and a part made of a metal capable of attenuating a dose rate on the radioactive object (2), the part made of a material capable of thermalising neutrons being in the shape of a hollow cylinder with a fraction of the wall removed, the metal part (2) comprising a solid portion (2a) inserted into a space that corresponds to the removed fraction of the wall of the part made of a material capable of thermalising neutrons and a recessed portion (2b) which extends the solid portion and is inserted into the wall of the part made of a material capable of thermalising neutrons, in contact with the part capable of thermalising neutrons; a gamma-radiation source (4) housed in a cavity of the recessed portion of the metal part; and at least one neutron detector (3) placed in the body of the part made of a material capable of thermalising neutrons. |
