The purpose of the present invention is to improve productivity by accurately and rapidly performing a work for processing a notch in a connecting pipe and to improve a processing quality. The present invention, in a notch processing device for the connecting pipe processing the notch fitted into an outer circumference of the connecting pipe on a joint surface of a joint pipe coming into contact with the outer circumference of the connecting pipe while the joint surface faces the outer circumference of the connecting pipe, provides the notch processing device including: a jig means fixating the joint surface of the joint pipe; a groove forming means having a punch to form a groove by punching a part of the joint surface of the joint pipe fixated by the jig means corresponding to a central part of the notch; and a notch forming means having a cutter capable of cutting and forming the notch with a shape identical to a shape of the outer circumference of the connecting pipe on the joint surface of the joint pipe fixated by the jig means by passing through the groove and a notch processing method. |
