The present invention relates to a low pressure selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system and a method for controlling the heating of a urea hydrolysis device thereof. The low pressure SCR system, which removes nitrogen oxide from main engine exhaust gas by an SCR reactor by installing the SCR reactor in the rear end of a main engine turbocharger, comprises: a heat exchanger which increases and outputs the temperature of the main engine exhaust gas; and a urea hydrolysis device which decomposes the urea atomized and injected into a urea decomposition chamber into ammonia using heat and applies the ammonia to the SCR reactor.
