摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently manufacturing an isotropic random mat composed of reinforced fiber and a thermoplastic resin.SOLUTION: A reinforced fiber mat is formed on an air permeable support body by depositing/fixing a mat-like mixture of reinforced fiber (A) and monofilament-like reinforced fiber (M), the reinforced fiber (A) being formed by slitting a reinforced fiber strand into a thin strand and cutting this strand into a predetermined fiber length, expressed by formula (1) below, and constituted of a critical single filament count or more, and the monofilament-like reinforced fiber (M) being similarly cut by opening the reinforced fiber strand to have the single filament count less than the critical single filament count. At this time, the random mat is manufactured by supplying a thermoplastic resin to at least either the space where the reinforced fiber (A) and the reinforced fiber (M) are in a mixed state or onto the reinforced fiber mat. The critical single filament count=600/D(1) (where D is an average fiber diameter (μm) of the reinforced fiber).
