A virtual machine image management server determines, on the basis of virtual machine image management information, whether to build an intermediate master image wherein an additional process during the building of a virtual machine image is applied to a master image. If the determination is made to build the intermediate master image, the intermediate master image is built and stored in a storage unit, the master image in the virtual machine image management information substituted with the intermediate master image, and, on the basis of the virtual machine image management information, the remaining additional process is applied to either the master image or the intermediate master image stored in the storage unit and the virtual machine image is built. |
