PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a short arc discharge lamp which suppresses thermal conduction by installing a metal body between an electrode and an electrode core rod and obtains an excellent joint state among a metal body, an electrode and an electrode core rod.SOLUTION: In a discharge lamp, a metal body having lower thermal conductivity than an electrode is interposed in at least a portion between the electrode and an electrode core rod, a buffer layer, in which metal body substance and electrode core rod substance are mixed with each other, is provided on a surface layer of the electrode core rod in contact with the metal body, and density of the metal body substance is continuously decreased toward the electrode core rod side from the metal body side of the buffer layer.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
