PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a depth range calculation device which can calculate a depth range and a parallax range of a stereoscopic image of a subject by an IP system.SOLUTION: In a depth information generating device 1, a stereoscopic image photographing device 910 using an integral photography system calculates a parallax range and a depth range of a stereoscopic image from an element image group. The depth information generating device includes: plane light intensity distribution calculation means 10 for calculating plane light intensity distribution from the element image group by performing wave motion optical operation via a virtual element optical system; volume light intensity distribution storage means 20 for storing plane light intensity distribution for each distance plane as volume light intensity distribution on a stereoscopic space; parallax range calculation means 30 for calculating a difference of an angle parallax amount between a near point and a remote point of the stereoscopic image of the subject in an observer position; and depth range calculation means 40 for calculating a distance between the observer position and the near point and a distance between the observer position and the remote point and calculating the difference of the distances as the depth range. |
