PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for mounting a steel strip coil to a mandrel of a pay-off reel safely and accurately without installing a device such as a complicated sensor.SOLUTION: In a method for width direction centering of coil, a sensor 4 to detect a width direction position of a steel strip coil 1 placed on a coil skid is installed, and position control of a coil car is performed so that a width direction center position 1c of the steel strip coil obtained from a measurement result of the sensor coincides with a width direction center position 2c of the coil car 2, and the steel strip coil is loaded. After that, the coil car is moved to a width direction center position 6c of a mandrel 6 of a pay-off reel 5, and the steel strip coil 1 is mounted to the mandrel 6. |
