[Class 110, (iii)] Blades 4, which may be stationary or moving, have roots 5 placed in grooves 6, which are wider than the roots, the space 7 being filled with one or more rings 8, 9, 10. The rings are rammed into position and the rotor or carrier edge 12 caulked over. Each ring may be divided into several sections circumferentially. The invention is stated to be applicable to radial flow blading. The rings may be of soft iron with the outermost ring of harder metal than the others. |
