In the method, a Diameter protocol field format corresponding to a service type of a charging service is determined according to the service type of the charging service; Diameter protocol encapsulation is conducted on charging-related information of the charging service according to the Diameter protocol field format to obtain a Diameter protocol request message; and according to the Diameter protocol request message, an interaction with the online charging system is conducted and the online charging system is requested to conduct charging processing on the charging service. The technical scheme improves the efficiency of online charging.
