The present invention relates to a running gear unit for a rail vehicle, comprising at least one wheel unit (103.1, 103.2) and a magnetic circuit device (111) for a magnetic circuit arrangement (112), the at least one wheel unit (103.1, 103.2) being configured to contact a part of a rail (110.1) of a track to be travelled on with a contact force acting between the at least one wheel unit (103.1, 103.2) and the rail (110.1). The magnetic circuit arrangement (112) has an activated state and a deactivated state. The magnetic circuit device (111) is configured to participate in generating, in the activated state, a magnetic flux in a magnetic circuit (113; 213) of the magnetic circuit arrangement (112) to increase the contact force compared to the deactivated state. The magnetic circuit device (111) is configured such that at least a part of the at least one wheel unit (103.1, 103.2) and the part of the rail (110.1) contacted by the at least one wheel unit (103.1, 103.2), at least in the activated state, forms a part of the magnetic circuit (113). |
