The needle engages one or more threads. Figs. 8, 9, 20 and 21 show looped threads comprising "foundation threads " b, c, and a "binding thread " a, the needle hook having engaged the binding thread only. Fig. 33 shows a thread made by feeding to the needle hook three threads e, f, g, one of which is fed under variable, intermittent tension. |
