The purpose of the present invention is to improve the water resistance and antifouling properties of a body water content meter. This body water content meter comprises a linearly formed main body part, and an insertion part extending in a curved manner from one end of the main body part. The insertion part includes: a front-end-side insertion part (120-2) having a sensor part (121) fixed to the front end surface (122), said sensor part measuring data concerning the water content inside a living body by being brought into contact with the body surface of a subject; a base-end-side insertion part (120-1) that supports the front-end-side insertion part (120-2) via a slide mechanism that makes the front-end-side insertion part slide in a direction substantially orthogonal to the front end surface (122); and a protection member (151) that makes the slide mechanism, which is between the front-end-side insertion part (120-2) and the base-end-side insertion part (120-1), liquid-tight. A side wall part is formed on the base-end side of the front-end-side insertion part (120-2) so as to cover a portion of the outer peripheral surface of the base-end-side insertion part (120-1).
