PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for stably manufacturing a polarizer excellent in optical characteristics and suppressing color unevenness, even at a high speed production.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a polarizer includes at least two stages in a swelling step. At the first stage, a widening roll is installed as a guide roll, at a 70% or later location in a running direction in a length at which a polyvinyl alcohol film is immersed in a treatment liquid, having a radius of curvature of 2000-50000 mm, at a treatment liquid temperature of 33-50°C, and drawing is carried out so that a draw ratio in a machine direction is 1.2-2.5. At the second or later stage, drawing is carried out so that a draw ratio in the machine direction is 1.06-1.2. |
