The device has an electronic computing unit (24) determining movement path and/or movement speed of an optical scanner unit (10) relative to a surface (16) from a difference between light intensity patterns. Another computing unit produces a controlling signal i.e. actuating signal, which correlates with an intensity of light reflected from the surface. An electronic evaluation device (28) is attached to an image sensor (22) and recognizes graphic code patterns (26) located on the surface based on the controlling signal and reads information from the code patterns. The image sensor is formed as a charge coupled device sensor or a complementary metallic oxide semiconductor sensor. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a system with a position determination device (2) a transport system (3) a conveying device (4) a method for determination of position of a vehicle. |
