Raise boring machine (1) for boring action in at least one boring direction (R1, R2) including a main frame (2) and an auxiliary frame (3) and a plurality of support means (4), a rotator unit (5) for rotational driving a drill string (10) through a region of the main frame (2), and torque transmitting support arms (6), which are rigidly connected to the rotator unit (5) and arranged slidable on at least two support arms (4) for transfer of torque from the rotator unit (5) to the body. The support means (4) are comprised of telescopic columns (7, 8) which allow change of a distance between the main frame (2) and the auxiliary frame (3) and thereby the length of the body (L, 1). The invention also relates to a method and a raise boring rig. |
