A motor vehicle comprising a body shell (1) comprising, on each of the lateral flanks, a central pillar structure (4) delimiting, with an upper cross member (2) and a lower cross member (3), two door openings (5, 6), said central pillar structure (4) comprising reinforcing means comprising first and second reinforcement portions (8, 9) linked together and disposed along a vertical axis (Z) of the motor vehicle, said second reinforcement portion (9) being disposed close to the lower cross member (3). The motor vehicle comprises an additional reinforcement portion (10) secured to the inner surface of the second reinforcement portion (9) close to a lower end (8b) of the first reinforcement portion (8) and capable of guiding the deformation of the central pillar structure (4) in case of a side impact with an external element on one of the lateral flanks. |
