The device has a bar type high intensity focused ultrasound transducer (1) producing a beam of ultrasounds (Fu) through an external surface (Se) in a body zone till a target structure e.g. recurrent laryngeal nerve (N2), of a patient. A monitoring unit (3) e.g. endoscope, detects a response of the structure when the structure is subjected to stimulation. A medical imaging apparatus i.e. ultrasonic probe (2), is coupled to an ultrasonograph and to the transducer for visualizing a position of the beam in the body zone on a visualizing screen. An independent claim is also included for a method for non-invasive marking of a position of a target structure. |
