PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hybrid vehicle that has an automatic transmission between a travel motor and a drive wheel and also has a capacitor connected in parallel to an input terminal or an output terminal of an inverter, which is configured to prevent protraction of discharging of the capacitor at collision.SOLUTION: The hybrid vehicle 2, at the time of collision or when predicting possibility of collison, inhibits shift down of an automatic transmission 9 when a controller 50 receives a signal indicating sudden braking and a signal indicating the collision. This prevents transmission gear ratio of the automatic transmission 9 from decreasing and prevents rotation speed of a motor 8 from rapidly increasing, thereby keeping the rotation speed of the motor 8 from highly increasing at the collison. Further, as the transmission gear ratio does not decrease, the rotation of the motor 8 is applied braking by friction of the automatic transmission 9. As the motor 8 is suppressed from generating regenerative power at collision, supply of the regenerative power to a capacitor is suppressed, therefore preventing protraction of discharging of the capacitor by the controller 50. |
