The device has an under-braking detection module (61) for estimating a difference signal (17) between a global braking command (1) and a supplementary braking command (7). The detection module verifies that a functional value of the difference signal is greater than an under-braking threshold value (21). A first transmission unit transmits first set of alarm signals (22, 25) when the verification result is negative at an under-braking duration. A second transmission unit transmits second set of alarm signals when the verification result is negative at another under-braking duration. An independent claim is also included for a method for securing normal functioning of a distribution device.
