A fuel injection valve comprising: a valve assembly (10) comprising a valve body (13) that works in conjunction with a valve seat (7) and opens and closes a nozzle hole (9), a connecting rod (14) connected to the rear end of this valve body (13), and a movable core (12) connected to the rear end of this connecting rod (14) and facing the front end of a fixed core (5); and a coil (22) arranged so as to encompass the fixed core (5), and which attracts the movable core (12) to the fixed core (5) by electric current passing therethrough, and opens the valve body (13). The fuel injection valve has: a fuel chamber (55) that connects to a fuel supply unit, provided between the connecting rod (14) and a valve housing (3); an outside fuel passage (57) that connects the fuel chamber (55) to the nozzle hole (9) when the valve body (13) is open, provided between the valve body (13) and the valve housing (3); and an inside fuel passage (56) provided inside the valve body (13) and that, when the valve body (13) is open, connects the fuel chamber (55) to the nozzle hole (9) in parallel to the outside fuel passage (57). As a result, the fuel passage around the valve body can be increased and the fuel injection amount can be increased, without increasing the opening stroke of the valve body. |
