The present invention relates to a method and device for storing data in a relational database management system, wherein data to be stored are checked as to whether they are assigned a unique identifier which is listed as a unique identifier which exists in the relational database and can be processed in the relational database, and wherein a new unique identifier which can be processed by the database is automatically generated if the unique identifier checked is not to be found within the list of unique identifiers which can be processed by the relational database, wherein the data are then stored by way of a mapping process using the new unique identifier. |
