Method and device of a helmet-based protection system for protecting a person in an environment subject to potential risks, having the following features: a) a headlight on a protective helmet (9) with a high-power LED system (3) and a light (10) on its rear side, wherein the headlight is surrounded, under its housing surface (7), by a number of cooling ducts (4) which taper in their profile, b) a stereo camera system (1) on the headlight which is connected to a GPS system and a computer-controlled time base, c) two distance sensors (2) which are attached to the sides of the headlight, d) a power supply unit (14) which is connected to a control unit (11) by means of a line (13), and is connected to the headlight by means of a multi-function line (12). |
