[Class 38 (iii)] Six full voltage traction motors are connected successively in two parallel groups of three in series ; in three parallel groups of two in series ; and finally all in parallel. All transitions are made by the bridge method. Fig. 8 shows the middle transition stage and Fig. 9 the stage immediately thereafter. This arrangement is suitable for multiple unit installations. For use on locomotives, a first grouping of six motors in series can be used, there being a bridge transition from this grouping to the two parallel groups of three in series.
