The bracket 201 comprises at least one first fixing plate 202 extending in a first direction in a first plane (P1, Fig. 5) and a second fixing plate 208 extending in a second direction in a second plane (P2, Fig. 5). The second direction is opposite to the first direction. The bracket further comprises at least one foot support 220 extending outwardly from at least one of the fixing plates. The first plane is offset from the second plane such that in use the at least one first fixing plate lies on one side of the fence (50) and the second fixing member and foot support lie on the other side of the fence. The foot support may comprise a square, rectangular or cylindrical rod extending from one of the fixing plates. A rung of a ladder incorporating a pair of the brackets and a bar (702, Fig. 12) attached between the supports of each bracket is also provided. The bracket serves as a portable temporary ladder or stile to allow maintenance workers to scale or climb fences without a normal ladder. |
