PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow test tube direction determination usually corresponding to only one sort of test tube to correspond to various sorts of test tubes in a test tube direction determination device important for test tube supply work.SOLUTION: A contact part capable of being inserted into a test tube is moved to be close to the test tube, and when a test tube bottom part faces the contact part, the test tube is brought into contact with the contact part. When a sensor detects the contact with the test tube, a state that the bottom part of the test tube faces the contact part is determined. When an aperture of the test tube faces the contact part, the contact part is inserted into the test tube and a state that the aperture of the test tube faces the contact part is determined because of no contact. A moving distance of the contact part is previously set for each sort of test tubes, and when an operator inputs through an operation part a sort of a test tube whose direction is required to be determined, the moving distance of the contact part corresponding to the test tube can be controlled. Consequently, direction determination corresponding to test tubes of many sorts can be achieved. |
