PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chip recovery system for a cutting machine that can reduce power consumption.SOLUTION: A chip recovery system 20 for a cutting machine includes: a dust collector 40 that is a dust collector 40 connected to a cutting machine 10 via a recovery pipe 30, has a suction driving part 41, and sucks and collects chips 2 from the cutting machine 10; and a detector 61 that is provided in the recovery pipe 30 and detects the amount of chips 2 passing through inside the recovery pipe 30. The detector 61 is connected with a chip presence/absence determination part 71 that determines the presence or absence of the chips 2, passing through inside the recovery pipe 30, at predetermined time intervals based on the amount of chips 2 detected by the detector 61. The chip presence/absence determination part 71 is connected with a dust collector control part 90 that controls the suction driving part 41 in such a manner that a suction force of the dust collector 40 is reduced when the determination of the presence or absence of the chips 2 by the chip presence/absence determination part 71 is changed from the presence to the absence. |
