PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a feeling of a rapid deceleration of a vehicle speed given to a passenger when the fuel is cut.SOLUTION: A control device performs: determining whether fuel cut of an internal combustion engine is currently in progress and whether a delay period is in progress, the period from establishing of a fuel cut condition and prior to starting the fuel cut; and setting a lower engine speed higher than in another case, if the fuel cut or the delay period is in progress, and then controlling a speed change ratio of an automatic transmission so that the engine speed stays at or above the lower limit engine speed at a coasting running. That is, within the delay period from the establishing of the fuel cut condition and before the starting of the fuel cut for stopping actual fuel injection, the lower limit engine speed is set to higher than in a normal running. |
