PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide, at a low cost, a compact power generation system which requires simple maintenance by using heat energy such as waste heat.SOLUTION: A Seebeck element 9, which uses temperature difference to convert heat energy into electric energy, is held at one end of two heatpipes 10 and 11, and they are coupled together by a holding body 12. The other end 10b of one of the heatpipes, namely the heat pipe 10, is immersed in a high-temperature hot spring 7, while the other end 11b of one of the heatpipes, namely the heat pipe 11, is immersed in a low-temperature hot spring 8. The high-temperature hot spring and the low-temperature hot spring are the same hot spring which is cooled in an intermediate region 14 on its path. The hot spring is an excessive, wasted heating medium. The power generation unit 1 has a compact structure, and it can be installed easily at a low cost and requires simple maintenance. |
