561,259. Fastenings. WOODHEAD, A. L. March 4, 1943, No. 3561. [Class 44] A fastening for a pair of doors A, A<1> is arranged so that the door A<1> cannot be fastened until door A is fastened. The door A carries a pivotal plate B which, when turned on its pivot C, actuates a pair of bolts F, H at the top and bottom of the door. This rotation brings the wide end B<3> of a curved keyhole slot B<2> into position to receive the necked head of a stud N<1> on a plate N pivoted on door A<1>. An outside handle M then rotates N so that the neck on stud N<1> moves to the narrow end of the slot B<2> and secures A<1>. At the same time a nose N<3> on N engages a spring detent L on plate B. |
