561,889. Asymmetrically-conducting resistances. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd., RICHARDS, E. A., ELLISON, L. J., and GRAY, F. Dec. 3, 1942, No. 15688/43. Divided out of 561,872. [Class 37] Rectifier elements with apertures or slots to facilitate assembly, are prepared from large sheets of metal coated with rectifying material such as selenium, by first forming a series of holes to correspond with the apertures in the finally produced elements, masking these holes during the application of a counter electrode layer, and then cutting or punching out elements as desired. In the example, for making discs, the centre holes C are formed, then a mushroom-shaped plug D is inserted in each and the whole area sprayed with metal or individual circles G corresponding to the active areas of the discs are sprayed. If desired, prior to coating with metal, a ring of insulating varnish &c. H may be stencilled round each hole C. Specifications 526,482, 561,529, 561,530 and 561,872 are referred to. |
