FINGERPRINT INPUT APPARATUS USING MOBILE TERMINAL EQUIPPED WITH CAMERA, AND EXTERNAL-OPTICAL DEVICE THEREOF

Disclosed are an apparatus for fingerprint input using a mobile terminal equipped with a camera, and an external optical device for fingerprint input. According to the present invention, a fingerprint image can be generated by using the external optical device via an optical fingerprint input method even when an existing mobile terminal does not include a configuration for optical fingerprint input therein. For this purpose, the external optical device is configured in the form of an external device which can be attached to an existing mobile terminal including a camera and which can generate a fingerprint image of a user as needed by using the optical fingerprint input method without interfering with primary usage of the camera and LED of the existing mobile terminal. The external optical device comprises a light refractor, a mirror, first and second lenses, and a housing. In particular, according to the present invention, proposed is the external optical device which maintains a relatively short light path extending from the light refractor to the camera of the mobile terminal and which has a structure enabling a close-up image to be photographed, and thus the external optical device can be manufactured to have a simple structure and a small size.
