A dental product 1 comprising a foodstuff, the foodstuff comprising green tea extract and amorphous calcium phosphate (ACP). The food stuff may comprise green tea extract between 2-10% by weight and ACP between 1-10% by weight. The green tea extract preferably comprises epigallocatechin gallate. The foodstuff may further comprise xylitol, the food stuff preferably comprising 50-95% xylitol by weight. The food stuff may further comprise a flavouring agent, such as mint or fruit flavouring. The flavouring may be peppermint and/or menthol flavouring. The flavouring may form 0.1-2% by weight of the foodstuff. The food stuff may further comprise magnesium stearate and/or calcium stearate, such agents may be present around 0.5% by weight. The foodstuff may take the form of a lozenge, pastille, sweet, gum or drink. The dental product may be used for the treatment or prevention of dental caries via oral administration. Embodiment relates to a lozenge comprising green tea extract, amorphous calcium phosphate, xylitol, natural peppermint oil, calcium stearate and menthol. |
