A cover 30 for a pipe bag of bagpipes comprising a chanter 14, a blowpipe 16 and plural drones 18, 20, 22, which is configured when in use to contain the pipe bag whilst the bagpipes are being played. The cover defines a first aperture 36 to allow for passage of the pipe bag when the cover is being fitted to and removed from the pipe bag and a second aperture 38 to admit the chanter when the pipe bag is fitted whereby at least a part of the chanter extends outside the cover. The cover further defines a third aperture 42 which admits the blowpipe when the pipe bag is fitted whereby at least a part of the blowpipe extends outside the cover, and a fourth aperture 46 to admit the plural drones when the pipe bag is fitted whereby at least a part of each drone extends outside the cover. The single aperture for the drones, which may be between 150mm and 350mm and may include a drone collar with releasable fastener, allows the cover to be fitted without removal of the drones from the pipe bag. The first and fourth apertures are preferably oriented in orthogonal directions. |
