PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep heat of a metallic material being a transportation object at a desired high temperature condition and to promote reduction in preparation cost required for transporting the metallic material, by maximally suppressing a temperature drop in the high temperature metallic material being the transportation object using simple device constitution.SOLUTION: A metallic material transporting system being one embodiment of the present invention includes: a transportation carriage having a heat insulating placing table for placing the metallic material thereon and a heat insulation cover; respective cover attaching-detaching devices arranged on the respective above-ground sides of a transportation start point and a transportation end point of the metallic material; and a control part. The transportation carriage is connected to a locomotive, and travels between the transportation start point and the transportation end point. Each of the cover attaching-detaching devices attaches-detaches the heat insulation cover to-from the transportation carriage positioned at the transportation start point or the transportation end point. The control part controls the respective cover attaching-detaching devices so as to attach-detach the heat insulation cover to-from the transportation carriage every time when the metallic material of the predetermined unit number are carried in and carried out. |
