[Clase 46] In a filter in which a plurality of filter elements in the form of thin cells, formed of filter paper or textile fabric 20, 20a, is engaged with a drainage element extending through apertures in the opposite walls of the cells, each cell is provided internally with a thin annular imperforate smooth supporting plate 22 of sheet metal, cardboard or other relatively rigid material in contact with a single drainage washer 23, or slightly spaced from a pair of drainage washers 23a, and extending adjacent to the outer periphery of the cell. As shown, the washer 23 is formed with channels 24, Fig. 2, permitting flow of liquid from the cell. One of the washers 23a is also formed with channels 24 or other surface inequalities on the face in contact with the other plain washer.</p> |
