PHARMACEUTICAL COMPOSITION FOR PREVENTING OR TREATING BRAIN TUMOR COMPRISING TRIFLURIDINE

The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition, a functional health food composition, and a feed composition for preventing, treating, and ameliorating brain tumor, containing trifluridine as an active ingredient. According to the present invention, trifluridine has been shown effectiveness in suppression of glioblastoma cell proliferation even with lower concentration than conventional temozolomide at the same or higher level, wherein temozolomide is one of agents for treating brain tumor. In addition, the trifluridine also effectively acts on glioblastoma cells which have resistance to temozolomide. Thus, the trifluridine can be useful as the active ingredient for a novel agent for treating brain tumor.
