PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inorganic fiber which has 2 μm or finer average fiber diameter, the average fiber length shorter than 100 μm, that was difficult up to now, and uniform fiber length and to provide a production method of the inorganic fiber.SOLUTION: The inorganic fiber has 2 μm or finer average fiber diameter, the average fiber length shorter than 100 μm and 0.7 or smaller CV value of the fiber length. The production method of the inorganic fiber comprises the steps of: forming an inorganic fiber sheet from the inorganic fiber, which is obtained by an electrostatic spinning method and has 2 μm or finer average fiber diameter; pressing the inorganic fiber sheet by a pressing machine; and pulverizing the pressed inorganic fiber sheet so that the pulverized inorganic fiber has the average fiber length shorter than 100 μm and 0.7 or smaller CV value of the fiber length. |
