PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress an occurrence of a defect such as rubbing and excessive coating.SOLUTION: Coating equipment 1 for a metal strip controls a distance between the surface of a metal strip S and the surface of an applicator roll 13 by applying magnetic force to the metal strip S on the upstream side or on the downstream side in the metal strip S advancing direction of the applicator roll 13. By this configuration, an occurrence of a defect such as rubbing and excessive coating can be suppressed even when a state of contact in the width direction between the metal strip S and the applicator roll 13 changes due to the shape, the thickness variation, etc. in the width direction of the metal strip S. |
