The method involves receiving measuring data for sensing surroundings of a motor vehicle (1) by a surrounding sensor system (7) that receives reflection of an actively sent signal. The signal is sent by a surrounding sensor e.g. camera (8) or remote sensor, of the sensor system, and reflectivity information i.e. reflectivity coefficient, describing reflectivity of an object is determined from the measuring data, where the object is provided in the surroundings of the motor vehicle. Local light intensity of a headlamp system (2) is adjusted under consideration of the reflectivity information. The sensor is formed as radar sensor, light detection and ranging (LIDAR) sensor, laser sensor and/or photonic mixer device (PMD) sensor. The headlamp system has headlamps comprising light sources i.e. LEDs, arranged in matrix form. An independent claim is also included for a motor vehicle comprising a headlamp system. |
