An outboard motor (6) includes an exhaust passage (22) configured to discharge exhaust gases generated in a V-type engine (7) into water from an exhaust opening (21). The exhaust passage (22) includes a plurality of first branch passages (66) and a plurality of second branch passages (64) that are connected to the plurality of cylinders (31) and disposed inside a V-shaped line, a first upstream collecting passage (67) connected to each of the plurality of first branch passages (66), a second upstream collecting passage (65) connected to each of the plurality of second branch passages (64), and a downstream collecting passage (68) connected to the first upstream collecting passage (67) and the second upstream collecting passage (65). A portion from an upstream end (68u) of the downstream collecting passage (68) to a downstream end (68d) of the downstream collecting passage (68) is disposed outside cylinder heads (37).
