The present invention relates to an external optical device for a mobile terminal equipped with a camera for inputting fingerprint, and a plate for installing an external optical device. According to the present invention, even if a conventional portable terminal does not embed a configuration for inputting optical fingerprint, the external optical device of the present invention can generate a fingerprint image in an optical fingerprint input method. The external optical device with magnet member is installed on and separated from a metal plate, which adheres to the portable terminal, by magnetic force. The external optical device and the plate have a structure for receiving the LED light of the portable terminal in order to be applied to a different kind of portable terminal.
