PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guide wire capable of securely preventing a medical instrument such as a catheter to be combined with a guide wire from being caught in a turned part when the part on a proximal end side of a distal end member is turned.SOLUTION: A guide wire 1 includes: an elongated wire body 2 with flexibility; and a distal end covering layer 6 covering a distal end part of the wire body 2 and made of a resin material. The guide wire 1 also includes: a tubular member 7 which is inserted into the wire body 2 and whose distal end is located at a proximal end of the distal end covering layer 6; and a hydrophilic lubricating layer 10 covering the outer surface of the tubular member 7 and made of a hydrophilic material. In addition, irregularity is formed on the outer surface of the tubular member 7. |
