The system and method of the invention allow mobile operators to provide the service of forwarding SMS messages at the expense of recipient. The system consists of a service data base (4) and service applications (2), which manages the execution of the procedure and which is associated with other network elements through signalisation level. According to a variant, the sender (20a) may explicitly request that recipient (20b) takes over the cost of sending a message, by sending an SMS to the service number, specifying the recipient’s phone number (22b) as a suffix. According to another variant, the service application (2) automatically offers to sender (20a) the possibility to forward the message, at recipient’s (20b) expense, in case when the sender (20a) doesn’t have enough money on his prepaid account. Recipient (20b) can accept or reject being charged for the messages sent from the sender’s number (22a) , as well as approve (or revoke) permanent agreement for accepting the costs of sending of all subsequent messages sent from sender’s phone number (22a). |
