The present invention relates to a system to provide information on optimal transportation transfer of public transportation and a method thereof. The method according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a step of checking the current location of a user who wants to transfer; a step of predicting the number of vacant seats of metropolitan public buses based on real-time traffic information and the current location of public transportation that the user is to transfer by using the number of people on a transfer information request waiting list and the existing transportation card usage, and performing the statistical distribution of the waiting people, time-series analysis and big data analysis, thereby, providing optimal transportation transfer information to the user.
