Method for flushing at least one part of a vehicle's propulsion system

The method involves using carbon dioxide as flushing gas, where the flushing gas is stored in a liquid state, a supercritical state or a gaseous state before rinsing a part e.g. reformer (45) of an external air-independent drive system (35) e.g. reformer-fuel cell system, of a vehicle i.e. submarine (5). The flushing gas is dissolved in water after rinsing of the part and is discharged from the vehicle into an environment. A carbon dioxide tank (65) is arranged outside of a pressure body (30) of the vehicle. An independent claim is also included for a submarine comprising a control unit.
