The induction coil unit for heating a component which is rotationally symmetrical relative to an axis, in particular a tool holder (5), comprises a plurality of coils (19) arranged about the axis (7) of the tool holder (5), with pole elements (2), which are movable radially with respect to the axis (7), of which pole elements each one consists of a stack of pole rods (25) that can be moved relative to one another. A yoke ring (17) connects the pole elements, which, when the coils (19) are excited by alternating current in the tool holder (5), produce a magnetic flux running in the peripheral direction to inductively heat the tool holder (5). The pole rods (25) of each pole element (21) can be moved jointly by means of pinion rollers (29), wherein, however, slide couplings or the like are provided in the drive force transmission path between the individual pole rods so that the pole elements (21) can adapt to different contours of the tool holder (5). Blocking mechanisms, by means of which abutment contact of the pole rods with the receiving sleeve (3) of the tool holder (5) can be prevented in a controlled manner, are associated with at least a part of the pole rods (25) of each pole element. By means of a configuration of end faces of the pole pieces (25) that varies along the axis (7) of the tool holder (5), a uniform heating in the axial direction can be achieved. |
