PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a car height adjusting device and a car height adjusting method for a railway vehicle, capable of sufficiently reducing wheel load fluctuation by softening the force of a twist direction applied on a car body.SOLUTION: A car height adjusting device includes a front side truck disposed on one side of a car body 22 in a longitudinal direction, a rear side truck disposed on the other side of the car body 22 in the longitudinal direction, a pair of front side air springs 21a and 21b arranged on both sides in a car width direction between the front side truck and the car body 22 and configured to support the car body 22 from a lower side, a pair of rear side air springs 21c and 21d arranged on both sides in the car width direction between the rear side truck and the car body 22 and configured to support the car body 22 from the lower side, and a twist reduction mechanism for adjusting the heights of, among the front side and rear side air springs, the rear side air springs 21c and 21d arranged on an advancing-direction rear side according to the inclination angles of, among the front side and rear side trucks, the front side truck disposed on an advancing-direction front side and the car body 22 in the car width direction. |
