A milling tool 16 (fig 1) for comminuting tubing or cutting casing in a borehole and a method of use thereof, comprising a tool body 107, a plurality of elements 211-216 projecting from or extensible from the tool body and distributed azimuthally around a longitudinal axis of the tool body, at least one of the elements comprising a guide surface 211, at least some of the elements comprising cutters 212-216, at least one cutter 211 is in an axial position at least as far forward as the leading parts of a plurality of guide surfaces 211, the cutter surfaces extending radially to the same distance as the guide surfaces and at least one further cutter 212 is positioned behind the guide surfaces and extending radially outwards beyond the plurality of the guide surfaces. The cutting tool may further produce a cutting silhouette or a trailing cutting silhouette. |
