A mixed reality control apparatus comprising a headset including a screen 102, a processor configured to receive data from a remote data source and display it on said screen and image capture means for capturing images of the environment in the vicinity of the user; the processor being further configured to: blend at least portions or objects of the captured images into a three-dimensional virtual environment 200; and generate a virtual representation of a physical control input and blend it into a mixed reality environment at a selected location, and generate a marker representative of said selected location; wherein the apparatus is configured to receive a user input in association with the marker, identify the user input as an action in respect of said control input, and generate a control signal to effect said action accordingly. There may be a pair of image capture devices separated spatially and used to create a depth map of the environment. The cameras may be substantially aligned with the users eyes. The user input may be compared to predefined body movements and the input may be associated with a users specific hand gesture. |
